About me and my practice
My name is Kes, and I'm a counsellor and still a work in progress myself, and I am passionate and dedicated to personal development and understanding mental health. My practice is informed by psychology and philosophy, and is rooted in my psycho-spiritual counselling training and clinical experience working in community mental health settings and also coaching personal development. My doors are open to people of all faiths and none, I'm not here to convert anyone to Buddhism, though I do share a bit of mindfulness and some insights where it helps. Most of all, I'm here to encourage you to take the steps that you need to take to create the future that you wish for. Life doesn't always go to plan, but you can certainly empower yourself to build your resilience and grow from the learning.
Experience
I've worked with all kinds of people from the UK and around the world (online). I am passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ people and anyone who has felt marginalised including neurodivergent people, people of culture, and all the ways our identities overlap and intersect. However I believe we are more than our social identities, we are more than political entities, and although there may have been set backs in our lives, it's totally possible to live a balanced life that suits you and how you want to live as part of our diverse humanity on this wonderful planet.
Qualifications
My core qualification is the Diploma in Psycho-Spiritual Counselling from the Sweet Track Centre and I have also completed many additional hours of CPD trainings and am constantly updating my training around trauma, mental health and relationships.
Additional Information
I have my own lived experience of adversities, and I'm concerned about the suffering of others as well. I use my own recovery from difficulties in my life to empower others. I'm a full human being, and I have a heart and sometimes say silly things but consistently do me best!
